SILVERSPARK unveil new chapter with 'THE LAST TIME'

'The Last Time' - THE FIRST IN A NEW CHAPTER
The release of 'The Last Time' signifies a new era for SilverSpark, as they step confidently into contemporary Country/Americana. Despite previous releases straddling the rock/pop genre, to those familiar with their past work this move will come as no surprise.
Following a hiatus and with a burning desire to get back to their roots as a duo, Matt and Carley simply chose to let their new songs guide them. There has always been a Country/Americana undercurrent evident in their songwriting and, unsurprisingly, this prevailed as the natural new direction:
"We felt inspired to write and just let the songs pour out. Our individual writing styles and influences naturally meet at this point of a real Country/Americana vibe. It's something we've always felt and loved, but that might have been obscured behind a rockier 'band' sound in the past. Subconsciously, the new songs led us right here. We wanted to follow our instincts; as artists, authenticity is everything" says Matt.
A POWERFUL ANTHEM
Driving, powerful and rousing, 'The Last Time' empowers and emboldens the listener. An anthem for anyone who has seen the warning signs in a relationship and knows they need to escape before it's too late. In an era of huge writing teams, 'The Last Time' was written solely by Carley and Matt. The lyrics liken a troubled relationship to an oncoming storm, offering a new take on a universal experience:
"Country music is all about the storytelling" says Carley "'The Last Time' takes listeners on that journey with us, feeling the disappointment of a relationship gone bad, the frustration of all the hard work and time wasted, then, finally, finding freedom in 1letting go and leaving it all behind".
NASHVILLE SOUNDS
When it came to recording 'The Last Time', SilverSpark fully embraced what their songs were telling them and searched for a producer to capture this new sound. Yet after speaking with several producers, both in the US and back home in the UK, they decided to follow their gut and self-produce:
"We had a firm vision for this song and wanted to remain true to that vision. We could hear the instrumentation in our minds and we'd already come this far by following our instincts, so we chose to produce it ourselves and sought out some incredibly talented Nashville players - they're great guys and a blast to work with. Country has a distinctive approach and these seasoned pros helped capture that vibe." said Matt.
'The Last Time' features bassist Mike Rinne (Miranda Lambert), drummer Kyle May (Kelsea Ballerini) and Smith Curry (Jason Aldean) on steel. To add the finishing touches, the song was mixed by Dylan Alldredge and mastered by Alex McCollough in East Nashville.
CREATIVE VISUALS
The duo also self-produced the accompanying official music video (also dropping on 3rd November), with Carley taking the lead in sassy style and Matt as the archetypal villain. Its emotive and stylish visuals are also delivered with a subtle 'tongue-in-cheek' sense of humour, showing that whilst they take their music seriously, there's a lighter side to this hard-working duo:
"We wanted to go all out with this release; bringing the song to life through video was a real challenge - we're not actors but had so much fun! Being our first-ever music video, it took real effort but it was great to be creative in a new way. We were also blessed that friends and even total strangers got involved on the spur of the moment and helped make it happen" said Carley.

With everything now in place for this release, it's an exciting time for this talented and fearless duo. Remaining true to themselves and having forged their own creative path with their vision for 'The Last Time', they possess a unique style and authentic sound.
Poised to make waves at home in the UK, where Country music is the fastest growing genre, and across the pond, when asked how they would describe their sound to fans on both sides of the Atlantic they said "A cup of tea with a shot of whiskey!".
